Captain Bobby Marek
My name is Bobby Marek, and I have been a Captain since i was 18 years old. Over the last 7 years i have run ~ 1,750 fishing charters, and have met over 5,000 people. Lone Star Fishing Charters was founded in the winter of 2020 and has run an average of 500 trips per year due to our rapid success. I bring a new perspective to fishing charters, as i am young and full of energy. To me, I'm doing this for you, it brings me joy watching others catch fish. I was born and raised in Allen, Texas and moved to Destin in 2018. My Texas roots have provided me with manners and kindness that i share with every trip i take. Through adversity and struggle of losing loved ones, i am so grateful to have made it this far, and am excited for the future. I have accomplished a lot in my time as a Captain from being awarded Captain of the Year to winning major tournaments. In my off time, I love to head north to the mountains of Georgia and fly fish. It is a familiar, yet distant feeling that is often rewarded with the perfect cast. My wife and I also enjoy horseback riding and visiting natural springs, here in northern Florida. I often look for positivity in all things, as life is what you make of it. I have never been a glass half empty or full kind of guy, I'm just happy to have a glass. I was a National Champion in men's volleyball and passed on multiple division one offers to play in college. Along with volleyball, I played golf and was ranked number 6 in the state of Texas my junior year, declining offers from major schools, knowing this is wanted to do in life.
